International Basava Center is a 501 (c) (3) registered nonprofit organization established to promote the teachings of Basavanna and his contemporary Sharanas.
Basavanna (aka Basava), was a social reformer from 12th century India. His teachings are universal and plural. Basavanna spearheaded a comprehensive revolution that encompassed all aspects of life. Basavanna fought against the gender, caste, racial, and social status-based discrimination bringing parity to all for enjoying the divine bliss. His message of brotherhood and reforms are the need of the hour and are guiding principles for the betterment of the world.
The message of Basavanna is very relevant even to this day and anywhere in the world. The logical, scientific, and holistic approach of his path has the potential to uplift the mankind. It helps a person to understand himself better, overcome his negativities, and motivate him to lead a productive and harmonious life in the society.
The main objective of IBC is to promote a selfless way of life as the guiding path for a better and unified world through equality and peaceful living regardless of religion, race, gender, belief, social status, or national origin.
The main goals of the IBC are:
Spreading the concept "Service is above Self"
Encourage Community Service
Active involvement in various community activities
Knowledge sharing is the ultimate form of learning,
Provide a platform for mutual exchange of information
Involve, Nourish and Encourage Children and Youth
Feed the needy
Bring equality amongst religion, race, gender, belief, social status, or national origin.
Work is worship is what Basava strongly believed and practiced.
We are a community of like minded people who believes in Basava and Sharana Principles. Practicing core Knowledge-Work-Charity-Equality in our daily life. We live in and around New England area, organizing Charity and Community Events. The organization is run by Volunteers and we do not have any paid staff.

2011 - 1st International Basava Conference - VSNA 34th Annual Convention 2011 & International Basava Conference , Hosted by VSNA - New England Chapter (July 2nd & 3rd, 2011)
2012 - International Basava Regional Education Center (IBREC) Exploratory Committee formed ( Jan 28), Incorporation of IBC (June 11th)
2013 - Sponsored Nirbhaya event in support of woman security
2014 : Sponsored Akshaya Patra event through Deshapande foundation for Mid day meal school program
2015 - $85K funds raised, Hosted 3 Soup kitchen events
2016 - Reached $150K, Hosted 2 soup kitchen events
2017 - Food Bank drive and IBC Sponsored community youth convention TX. Basava Statue for our chapter
2018 - Continued with property search, Conducted food drives
2019 - LOI to purchase property in Holliston
2020 - Completed the purchase of IBC Property
2021 - Clean up and opening of IBC site along with food drive
2022 - Food Drive, Walkathon & Bikethon event, Suttur Swamiji visitation to IBC location, new website launched
